Chumanubri will collect fees from tourists visiting Manaslu Conservation Area

GORKHA: To enter the Manaslu Conservation Area (MCAP) now the local municipality also has to pay a fee. Both Nepalese and foreign tourists entering the area now have to pay a fee to Chumanubri Rural Municipality of Gorkha.

According to the Economic Act 2081 of Chumanubri, it has been decided to collect 1000 rupees per person from foreigners and 200 rupees from Nepalis, according to the rural municipality.

Chief Administrative Officer Manoj Lamichhane has informed that the decision was taken on August 20th after discussing with the people’s representatives of the municipality, political parties, tourism professionals and stakeholders.
