Fraud in foreign employment, 3500 complaints in 6 months

KATHMANDU: Looking at the data of the Foreign Employment Department, about 3,500 complaints have been filed in the last 6 months about fraud during foreign employment.

From the month of Saun to Poush, 3,495 complaints were filed for fraud, rescue and relief. Out of these complaints, 1,560 complaints have been addressed, according to the department. According to the department, 45 people have been rescued out of 690 complaints for rescuing their relatives stranded abroad.

According to the department, 172 people have received compensation from those who filed complaints for rescue.

The department has also informed that 191 settlements have been made out of 1,130 complaints related to fraud. Of the 1,675 complaints registered in the police branch inside the department premises, 65 complaints have been resolved and 923 complaints have been dismissed.
