KATHMANDU: Many Nepali workers have been forced to work illegally as many companies in Saudi Arabia have not renewed their contracts. Two Nepali girls who were in trouble due to non-renewal of Akama by Al Asra Company of Saudi Arabia were rescued.
Asmita Tamang from Hetauda and Kavita Gurung from Gorkha were rescued and returned to Nepal, who were stranded by the company without renewing the contract and were not paid on time. They are just a representative example. There is a growing tendency for the employer company not to make temporary work, not to provide salary facilities as per the contract.
Because of this, those who have come to work abroad have to suffer from many problems, such as being deprived of traveling outside, being deprived of sending the huge amount of money they have earned to their families, being arrested and fined by the police, active Nepali organizations and social activists have said.
