Kathmandu: Nepal Telecommunication Authority Chairman Purushottam Khanal has resigned. Khanal submitted his resignation to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology on Tuesday morning.
Questions have been raised saying that there were irregularities in the purchase of systems such as Mobile Device Management System (MDMS), Teramax, which were advanced during his tenure.
Khanal submitted his resignation amid criticism that the authority’s leadership was not working properly in issues such as the cancellation process of Smart Cell and the purchase and sale of shares of Ncell, including tax collection from internet service providers.
