A new ‘subvariant’ of Corona has been seen in Nepal

Kathmandu: A new variant of corona virus JN.1 has been confirmed in Nepal.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Dr. Prakash Budhathoki informed that a new variant of Corona, JN.1, was confirmed for the first time in Nepal during gene sequencing.

During the gene sequencing of 16 antigen positive samples at the National Public Health Laboratory, the new variant of corona virus JN.1 was confirmed in seven samples in Nepal.

The new sub-variant of Covid ‘JN.1’ has been spreading rapidly around the world for the last one month.
