Nepal-India Agreement: 10,000 megawatts of electricity will be exported in 10 years

Kathmandu: Nepal and India have signed a long-term agreement on electricity export. In the presence of Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet in the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, the secretaries of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on long-term energy trade.

The previous agreement to export 10,000 megawatts of electricity in the next 10 years has become meaningful with today’s signing.

On behalf of Nepal, Gopal Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation and Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of Energy of India, signed the bilateral agreement on electricity export.
